Page 71 of Moby Dick has been translated to binary and an image of the mountain that inspired the classic novel, Mount Greylock, was converted to ASCII art and rotated to conform to the format of the printed page. The results are then combined to create a new page 71 for the New York Makes a Book!! project. The new page asks us to examine digital and traditional media, and to question inspiration, authorship and the nature of intellectual property in a modern context.
